Driven Cars cover the entire spectrum of the automotive universe, from pricey thoroughbreds to fun-loving colts, with everything in between. In each case, we have tried to marry the personality and temperament of the marquee to the terrain and infrastructure of the destination. On some of our trips, the choice of car is fixed, while in other cases it may be possible to choose from a range of different models within the same brand family (often with an associated supplement).

Ferrari F430 F1 Spider - January 1, 2006

The F430 Spider, Ferrari’s new drop-top, includes a number of important technical features which give hints of the car’s F1 pedigree, starting with the innovative electronic differential (E-diff) - first developed by the racing division for the Scuderia’s all-conquering F1 cars – which improves traction and roadholding under all conditions. The Spider also features the steering wheel-mounted rotary switch, known to the Scuderia’s drivers as the ‘manettino’, which allows the car’s set-up to be adjusted easily and quickly.
