Itinerary

  • Italy

Italy is one of the most visited destinations in the world. It's top attractions include; Rome (Colosseum, Vatican City, PIazza Navona, Forum, Pantheon, Fountains of Trevi, Spanish Steps), Florence (Duomo, Old City, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi), and Venice (Grand Canal, Doge's Palace, St. Marks Square). But there is much more to discover outside these heavily travelled spots.  Tuscany and Umbria with its wine, food and hilltowns (Sienna, San Gimignano, Orvietto, Spoleto), the dazzling Amalfi Coast (Positano, Capri, Sorrento), Siciliy with its old words ways, the urbane Milan and nearby Lake Como, the Italian Riviera... and more.  One important piece of advice, the soul of Italy is in its small towns, so be sure to get outside the big cities and into the country. That is where you will find the magic.

  • Ladispoli

Ladispoli is a town in the province of Rome, Lazio, central Italy. Ladispoli occupies the area existed the ancient Alsium, the port of the Etruscan city of Cerveteri and later a Roman colony cited by Cicero. It is located approx. 40 minutes from Rome and is a great base for Mediterranean views but within easy reach of the big city.

  • Rome

Rome, the 'Eternal City', is the capital of Italy. The historical center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Make sure to explore the sites of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. A few blocks away, Old Rome is the center of the medieval and Renaissance periods, with beautiful plazas, cathedrals, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Fountains of Trevi, Campo de' Fiori, Spanish Steps, and plenty of shopping and dining. Just across the river is the Vatican, the Papal City State and its endless treasure troves of sights, relics, and museums, as well as the surrounding Italian neighborhood, Vaticano. Via Veneto leads north into modern Rome to the train station and is lined with glitzy shops and hotels for every budget.

  • San Casciano dei Bagni

San Casciano dei Bagni is a tiny village near Siena with a little over 2,000 inhabitants, including those living on farms in the outskirts. At an altitude of 582 meters, it is situated between the Paglia and Chiana valleys and surrounded by the Cetona, Amiata and Radicofani mountains. Its territory borders the regions of Umbria and Lazio. The thermal waters at San Casciano gush out from a multitude of springs constituting a basin of noteworthy capacity. The chemical - physical characteristics classify it as hyper-thermal, sulfuric, calcic and magnesic water: at some of these springs natural, thermal mud is formed that has extraordinary therapeutic properties. The muds are obtained through a natural mixture of mineral water and clay that is steeped and enriched with mineral components in underground cavities that surround San Casciano dei Bagni.

  • Local Pastimes

Italian coffee rituals are often baffling to the uninitiated. Espresso coffee is very small and very strong. It is usually consumed in one or two gulps while standing at the bar. Italians will spend three hours eating a meal and then refuse the restaurant's coffee (which is always served at the end of the meal after dessert) because they want to drink it in a particular bar. If you ask for a Caffe you will get espresso, whereas a Caffe Americano will be a "long" espresso.  Caffe Latte is the true version of what we have colloquialized as a "Latte", but be careful not to order a "Latte" as you will receive simply a delicious glass of steaming milk.
