Trip Description

With your own professional, private guide and luxury SUV, you will visit Sedona, known for its beauty and serene setting amidst the beautiful Red Rocks, and famous vibrant arts community with nearly 100 art galleries and events each year. Hike, shop and maybe even go for a psychic reading! Stand in awe of the Grand Canyon, the massive canyon that was millions of years in the making. Your expert guide will take you on a hike along the deepest and widest part of the Grand Canyon. Opt for a helicopter tour for the best view! Travel to Glen Canyon, a mind-bogglingly vast canyon in deep red rock country, which has been filled with North America's largest man-made lake, Lake Powell. While there, you’ll tour Lees Ferry and the Vermillion Cliffs, with an option to tour Navajo Tapestry Canyon. Your guide will accompany you on a walking tour of Antelope Canyon, a scenic slot canyon located on Navajo land. If you’re feeling adventurous, take a river raft or ‘float’ in Glen Canyon! With your professional guide, you will tour the magnificent Monument Valley, a Navajo Tribal Park. You will have the unique experience of touring with a Navajo guide in Canyon de Chelly, a National Park which preserves ruins of the early indigenous tribes that lived in the area, including the Ancient Pueblo Peoples (also called Anasazi) and Navajo. Your tour ends with a stay in Phoenix, Arizona. Choose to stay an extra day or two to take advantage of the world-class golfing, or spectacular spas.

Itinerary

  • Arizona

The 48th state of Arizona is located in the southwestern region of the United States. The capital and largest city is Phoenix and the state is noted for its desert climate, exceptionally hot summers, and mild winters, however it also features pine forests and mountain ranges in the northern high country, with cooler weather than in the lower deserts.  Mountains and plateaus are found in more than half of the state. Despite the state's aridity, 27% of Arizona is forest, a percentage comparable to modern day France or Germany.   The most well known feature is arguably The Grand Canyon - a colorful, steep-sided gorge, carved by the Colorado River, in the northern part of the state. The canyon is one of the seven natural wonders of the world and is largely contained in the Grand Canyon National Park—one of the first national parks in the United States.  Arizona is one of the Four Corners states. It borders New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, California, touches Colorado, and has a 389-mile (626 km) international border with the states of Sonora and Baja California in Mexico. It is the largest landlocked U.S. state by population. In addition to the Grand Canyon, many other national forests, parks, monuments, and Indian reservations are located in the state.

  • Grand Canyon National Park

Grand Canyon National Park is a United States National Park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is located entirely in northern Arizona and is one of the great tourist attractions in the United States. There are two ways to approach the Canyon: the remote North Rim and the more accessible (and therefore more crowded) South Rim. Both areas have several options for camping, as well as hotels and restaurants. Expect all of these facilities to be overflowing with visitors during the busy summer season. Fall, spring, and winter are all great times to visit the Grand Canyon.

  • Lake Powell

Lake Powell is a reservoir on the Colorado River, straddling the border between Utah and Arizona (most of it, along with Rainbow Bridge, is in Utah). It is the second largest man-made reservoir in the United States. It is public land managed by the National Park Service, and available to the public for recreational purposes. The lake provides access to many natural geographic points of interest as well as some remnants of the Anasazi culture. Other areas of interest include: Rainbow Bridge National Monument, Defiance House ruin (Anasazi), Cathedral in the Desert, San Juan goosenecks and the Kaiparowits Plateau.
