Trip Description

Get the star treatment on this L.A and Las Vegas Highlights tour. You’ll have the chance to explore Hollywood where you can visit the famous (and infamous) landmarks in Hollywood such as Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, Kodak Theatre (home of the Oscars), and the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. Opt for an Architecture tour of Hollywood and you’ll see Los Angeles the way the locals do. Of course, no visit to California would be complete without a visit to the beach! Visit the eclectic Venice Beach, stroll the boardwalk, catch some rays, people watch, and see the famous Venice Canals (yes, they have them in California too!) After your Los Angeles adventure, you’ll head over to Fabulous Las Vegas. You have a choice of the self-drive option (a leisurely 6-7 hr drive, take your time, enjoy the desert scenery, stop at the Calico Ghost Town along the way), or if you’re in a hurry, take a short 75 minute flight from LAX to Las Vegas. Discuss these options with your Sales Advisor representative. In Vegas, you can choose from a number of activities, or explore the city on your own. See the spectacular West Rim of the Grand Canyon, where you will have the chance to go onto the exhilarating Skywalk, a glass and steel walkway that extends 70 feet beyond the rim, and 4000 feet above the Canyon floor! End your Vegas adventure with a night-time helicopter tour of the Las Vegas Strip! A private transfer in a luxury SUV takes you to Las Vegas Airport for your flight home.

Itinerary

  • Nevada

Nevada is a state located in the western region of the United States. The capital is Carson City and the largest city is Las Vegas. The state's nickname is Silver State, due to the large number of silver deposits that were discovered and mined there. "Sagebrush State" and "Battle Born State" are its alternative nicknames. In 1864, Nevada became the 36th state to enter the union, and the phrase "Battle Born" on the state flag reflects the state's entry on the Union side during the American Civil War. Nevada geographically covers the Mojave Desert in the south to the Great Basin in the north. It is the most arid state in the Union. Approximately 86% of the state's land is owned by the U.S federal government under various jurisdictions both civilian and military. The state is well known for its easy marriage and divorce proceedings, entertainment and legalized gambling.

  • Las Vegas

Las Vegas is the largest city in the state of Nevada, known as "the Entertainment Capital of the World", and is situated in the midst of the southern Nevada desert. The city has giant mega-casino hotels, decorated with lavish care and attention to detail to create a fantasy-like atmosphere. Aside from gambling, the city has a vast array of entertainment options: live theatre, shopping, restaurants, golf, amusement parks and sports teams. Nearby Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon are both very popular day trips. There are plenty of outdoor activities to choose from in the area including rock climbing, hiking, and other outdoor activities in the beautiful Nevada canyons.

  • California

California is the most populous state in the United States, and the third largest by land area, after Alaska and Texas; it is also the second most populous sub-national entity in the Americas, behind only São Paulo, Brazil. California is located on the West Coast of the United States, bordered by Oregon to the north, Nevada to the northeast, Arizona to the southeast, the Mexican state of Baja California to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Its four largest cities are Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, and San Francisco. Much of the state has a Mediterranean climate, with cool, rainy winters and dry summers. The cool California Current offshore often creates summer fog near the coast. Further inland, one encounters colder winters and hotter summers.  California's geography ranges from the Pacific coast to the Sierra Nevada mountain range in the east, to Mojave desert areas in the southeast and the Redwood–Douglas fir forests of the northwest. The center of the state is dominated by the Central Valley, one of the most productive agricultural areas in the world. California is the most geographically diverse state in the nation, and contains the highest (Mount Whitney) and lowest (Death Valley) points in the contiguous United States. Almost 40% of California is forested, a high amount for a relatively arid state.

  • Los Angeles

The city of Los Angeles, also known as the "City of Angels" or simply L.A., is the largest city in California. Located on a broad basin in Southern California, it's surrounded by vast mountain ranges, deep valleys, forests, desert and miles of coastline on the Pacific Ocean. Los Angeles is an important center of culture, business, media, and international trade, but is most famous for being the center of the world's entertainment industry, which forms the base of its global status. Historically, the downtown fell into disrepair, however, in recent years, the area has seen a booming revival, with trendy hotels, bars, shops and restaurants opening to make it a place to be again. Hollywood is home to the film studios and entertainment theme parks.

    • Venice Beach CanalsVenice Beach Canals

    Day 3: Los Angeles

The most interesting and popular sight in Venice Beach is the beach, but it's not the surf and sand that take center stage here. It's the lively sidewalk scene. Venice Beach is a place where you'll find artists, palm readers and bikini-clad roller skaters mixing with chanting, saffron-clad Hare Krishnas and wriggling belly dancers. Points of Interest include; • Venice Boardwalk - It's really more of a sidewalk than a "board" walk, but a walk down it is the best way to explore the waterfront scene. You'll pass street performers, skaters, artists, gawkers and vendors selling all kinds of items from incense to sarongs. • Muscle Beach: This is the place where Arnold Schwarzenegger and hosts of other body-builders have "bulked up" in the outdoor weight room. If you'd like to have your day in the sun, you can buy a day pass at the office. • Venice Canals: A few blocks remain out of some 16 miles of manmade waterways that once graced Venice-of-America, founded in 1905 by local developer Abbot Kinney. You can walk along them in the area bordered by Washington, South Venice Blvd., Pacific Ave. and Ocean Ave.

    Day 4: Los Angeles

Explore L.A. on any of these optional tours: Discover the Farmer's Market and West Third Street on the L.A. Food Tasting Walking Tour where you will enjoy food tastings from a diverse array of cuisines. The Car may be King in L.A., but the best way to discover the city like a local is by foot. There are a number of walking tours available, whether it's the Behind The Scenes Hollywood Tour, Historic Downtown L.A., Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, or the Contemporary Downtown L.A., you will feel like you've really seen L.A.! Love architecture? Try the Architecture Tour of Hollywood or Architecture Tour of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Private tours are also available: the Getty Center and Rodeo Drive blends culture and glamour with a private tour of the Getty Center Museum and then shopping on Rodeo Drive, or try the Studio Tour and Santa Monica Shopping Tour, which includes a private movie studio tour and a shopping tour of Santa Monica! Please let your Sales Advisor know if you are interested in any of these options.

    Testimonials

"We had a great trip and have lots of wonderful memories and pictures. Highlights were certainly the birthday party Bien arranged for us on the Mekong Delta, (out of this world), the Kung-Fu demonstration Tan organized for us in Hue, the elephant rides through the gates of Angkor Wat that Rith arranged. (Our elelphant driver played a leaf flute while we walked along the jungle and the monkeys were swinging in the trees. The kids couldn't get enough of it.) It really was superb. Thank you so much for all of your help and assistance with all of our questions and last minute changes. We really appreciated it and the individual attention you gave to us all."
