On this tour, you will spend two full days on the tundra in search of the majestic polar bear. After a hearty breakfast, you will depart for the day from the Lazy Bear Lodge for your Polar Bear Adventure. Each day you’ll explore more of the Hudson Bay coastline with a driver/guide who will lead you through our wildlife viewing area in search of arctic fox, arctic hare, camouflaged ptarmigan and, if you are lucky, the snowy owl and the gyrfalcon.
You will spend one day on the large and comfortable Lazy Bear Lodge Tundra Vehicle with the other on the more nimble Lazy Bear Lodge Wildlife Viewing Bus. During one of your days on a tundra vehicle you may travel just below the tree line in the boreal forest. Both vehicles are equipped with a propane furnace, bathroom facility, and a rear viewing deck so you can safely stand outside while photographing. Group sizes are kept to a maximum of 25 for your comfort and convenience. You will be served a hearty lunch, hot drinks and snacks during the tour.
Peak polar bear season is from October to November.
