Overview
The Gleneagles Hotel is a place where great things happen – Gleneagles was proud to host the G8 Summit of world leaders in July 2005, and it will be the venue for the 40th Ryder Cup Matches in 2014. The hotel has 232 spacious guest bedrooms, including a variety of luxury suites to suit all needs, tastes and desires. Guests staying at the hotel can take advantage of the wide range of experiences around the resort. There is plenty to do, with a selection of shops to browse and free access to the leisure club, swimming pools and tennis courts. Children can be entertained in The Playroom and older children have their own space, The Zone. Every year since 1986 Gleneagles has been awarded the full 5 Red Star rating from the Automobile Association.

Gleneagles, Auchterarder, has an international reputation for excellent cuisine and fine dining. Each of the restaurants has its own style, but the hallmark of all is the use of the finest fresh produce available locally in Perthshire and Scotland, as well as from specialist suppliers around the world. The Strathearn is a grand restaurant, serving the finest Scottish dishes. Deseo serves Mediterranean cuisine in a relaxed, informal environment. The Bar is at the heart of the hotel serving morning coffee, light lunches and afternoon tea with all the trimmings. Visit in the evening for aperitifs or after dinner whiskies. The Dormy Clubhouse offers a choice of traditional meals – from all day breakfast to wholesome pies, sandwiches and grills Andrew Fairlie a two Michelin-starred restaurant, where the cuisine is unashamedly French but with a Scottish twist.

Gleneagles Hotel features four golf courses: the nine-hole Wee Course, the Queen’s and King’s courses, and the PGA Centenary Course. Golfers new and returning can pick up tips at the Golf Academy. Gleneagles also hosts the Shooting School, the Equestrian School, the British School of Falconry, and two off-road 4x4 driving courses. The Club includes two indoor pools, tennis courts, fitness equipment, and running tracks. The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply. Other on-site activites include a driving range, aerobics, tennis, running track/path, yoga classes/instruction, bicycle rentals, horseriding/rental, fishing, golfing and golf lessons. Nearby activities include mountain biking, trails and helicopter/airplane sightseeing.
