The Horizon Philosophy: We believe that all great travel experiences are the
result of a partnership built upon trust and responsibility. Our role is to help you choose
and prepare for a trip that exceeds your expectations. Your role is to select a trip that best
matches your interests, your abilities and your idea of a great vacation. Once the trip begins,
we will do everything possible to ensure your enjoyment, and we rely on you to tell us if
something is not working. Success in both roles requires us to be honest with each other up
front about the risks and rewards of travel and the realities and limitations of the traveler
experience. We have one of the highest repeat traveller rates in the business because we are
honest about our trips, we stand behind our experiences, and we listen to what our travellers
tell us. We look forward to a successful partnership together, and we hope that you sit back,

Reservations: You can reserve a trip at any time by calling us at
1-800-387-2977, faxing us at 416-585-9614, emailing us at
admin@horizon-co.com" or booking on our website at
www.horizon-co.com. We also accept reservations through
travel agents. We accept credit cards or cheques for the initial deposit, and the balance can
be paid by cheque, credit card, money order, or any other method that suits your convenience.
Note that certain other non-refundable items may require full payment at the
time of reservation.
Trip Prices: All prices are in US dollars. Prices are based on costs effective
on the date noted in the brochure and are subject to change due to airfare increases, additional
taxes and fees, changes in the exchange rate or other factors beyond our control.

Solo Travellers: Solo travellers are some of our favourite people, and
while the travel industry in general often seems to penalize them for travelling solo, we
will do everything possible to accommodate and include them with minimal penalty. Solo
travellers wishing to occupy a private room must pay the single supplement (essentially
the surcharge hotels charge us for single occupancy). Solo travellers wishing to share a
twin room with another solo traveller (and thereby avoid the single supplement) should
make this wish known at the time of booking and we will do everything possible to find
a matching pair. The trip price based on a shared arrangement will be guaranteed at 90
days if we have succeeded in finding a partner. Regrettably, if one person in a shared
arrangements cancels for any reason outside of 90 days, or if we are unable to find a
partner, the remaining solo traveller will be required to pay the single supplement.
Disabilities: We are committed to the belief that medical conditions or
disabilities shouldn’t prevent people from experiencing the joys of travel, but we rely
upon the travellers to disclose this information to us at the time of booking. We will
do everything possible to accommodate traveller conditions at a reasonable cost, including
finding local companions to provide assistance, but in some situations we may require the
traveller to be accompanied by a qualified companion for the duration of the trip. Any
traveller who fails to disclose such a condition at the time of booking may be removed
from the tour and sent home at their expense and with the loss of any unused portion of
the trip price.

Transfers: Travellers may transfer to other trips offered by Horizon in the
same calendar year for an administration fee of $50 USD per person by notifying us no later
than 90 days prior to the departure date of their trip.
Shore Excursions: All shore excursions included in the Land and Cruise
packages are private for groups of 15 or more travellers. Trips with fewer than 15
travellers share the regular excursions.
Changes: Published itineraries are subject to change or modification at
any time at Horizon’s discretion due to changing conditions in the field. Any changes to
the reservation at the request of the traveller are subject to an administrative fee of
$50usd per person.
Visas: Visa's may be required to enter some of the countries on our
itineraries, and in certain cases additonal costs may be involved. We don't include the
costs of these visas in our trip prices, but we do offer a pre-trip service of arranging
your visa for you - please contact us or ask your travel agent for details.
Insurance: The trip price does not include any insurance coverage,
and Horizon strongly recommends the purchase of travel insurance to protect your trip
investment in the event of medical emergencies, lost bags, a cancelled trip or any
other unforeseen trip or pre-trip related event.
Additional Travel Arrangements: A service transaction fee will be
charged for extra arrangements such as flights, transfers and hotel rooms that are
outside the group itinerary.
Traveller Responsibility: All travellers assume the responsibility
to select or design the trip most appropriate to their physical abilities and
interests. Travellers are responsible for being in sufficiently good health to
undertake their trip; for obtaining the appropriate medical and cancellation
insurance; for studying all pre-departure information; and for acting in a
manner considerate of fellow travellers and the countries visited. Travellers
assume full responsibility for all risks, including but not limited to any
loss, injury, death or damage to them, their family or their dependants
arising in connection with their participation, or the participation of
their family, in the trips, and for ensuring that they have adequate
insurance coverage to cover any loss.
Participation: We require that all travellers be at least 15
years of age on all trips apart from designated family departures.
Travel Risk: Any form of travel contains inherent risks and
medical facilities and services may not be easily accessible and may not be
sophisticated. There are other risks associated with the trips, such as theft
or loss of or damage to property. Some of the services provided in connection
with the trip, including lodging, transportation, food service, and local
tours and activities, are obtained from independent suppliers over whom
Horizon has no control.
Limitation of Liability, Release and Indemnity: To be
eligible to take a Horizon trip, travellers must accept these risks and
assume full responsibility for any loss, injury, death or damage to them,
their family or their dependants arising in connection with their
participation, or the participation of their family, in the trips.
Travellers must have their own insurance appropriate to their needs
and the needs of their family or dependants in respect of such loss,
injury, death or damage.
Although Horizon endeavours to choose appropriate independent suppliers
to provide services on the trips, Horizon has no right to control their
operations and therefore makes travel arrangements for the trips on the
condition that Horizon will not be liable for any act or omission of any
independent supplier or any unrelated third party. The services provided
by independent suppliers are subject to the laws of the place where the
services are provided, and any conditions imposed by those suppliers.
The liability of the independent suppliers may be limited by their
tariffs, conditions of carriage, tickets and vouchers, and international
conventions and agreements.
The cost of all Horizon trips is based on travellers agreeing to this
Limitation of Liability, Release and Indemnity. In consideration for
participating in the trips, travellers agree not to sue Horizon in
respect of, and forever release them from, all liability for economic
loss and physical or mental injury, direct or indirect, arising in
connection with the trip – including, without limitation, permanent
disability and death; any emotional distress; any loss of services,
financial support, aid, consortium or companionship; and any damage
to or loss of property – in each case even if caused in whole or in
part by the conduct, including the negligence, of Horizon, except
where such loss, injury or damage is caused by reckless or fraudulent
conduct on the part of Horizon or their employees, guides, shareholders,
officers or directors, in which case the traveller retains the right to
sue only Horizon in respect of that conduct.
Travellers further agree that they will indemnify and hold Horizon
harmless in respect of any claims arising in connection with the
trip made by: i) third parties, which arise from the misconduct of
the travellers; ii) the traveller’s family members, dependants or
heirs, iii) third parties, which the traveller, their estate, their
family members, dependants or heirs have sued, if damages are
recovered from such third parties, to the extent the third party
obtains any indemnification from Horizon; except where the loss,
injury, death or damage is caused by the reckless or fraudulent
conduct on the part of Horizon, or their employees, guides,
shareholders, officers or directors.
Horizon reserves the right to decline accepting or retaining any
traveller whose health or actions in Horizon’s sole judgement impede
the operation of a trip or the welfare or enjoyment of fellow
travellers. In further consideration for participating in the trip,
travellers agree that Horizon, or their designate, may use any
photographic or film records of the trips for promotional and/or
commercial purposes, without any remuneration to the traveller.
The traveller agrees to assign all right, title and interest they
may have in or to any media in which their name or likeness might
be used to Horizon.
This Limitation of Liability, Release and Indemnity is binding
upon all members of the traveller’s family, dependants, estate,
heirs, successors and legal personal representatives. Any claim
or dispute arising out of or relating to this Limitation of
Liability, Release and Indemnity or its interpretation, the
trip, or the traveller’s relationship with Horizon will be
resolved exclusively in the courts of the Province of Ontario
and will be governed exclusively by Ontario law.
